Aveeno nourish & revitalize shampoo & conditioner review
Hey guys, so I wanted to do a quick review for you. This will be a review on the Aveeno nourish & revitalize shampoo and conditioner that I bought a while back. I’ve had plenty of time to use it up and kinda formulate an opinion on it and how it works for me.
So the first thing I want to say about this is. This is a personal review. I can only attest how this works for me and my hair. I don’t know how this is going to work on you. I can say you can take my review as either “No, I don’t want to try that” or “maybe I will try that” it’s really up to you what you want to do.
So the first thing I want to do is describe my hair for you. So you guys can kinda see what I’m working with here. Maybe you have a similar hair type, and you can kinda take this and be like OK this is going to work on her we have almost the same type hair. Like I’m not going to spend my money on it. or you can be like well I have different hair from her and maybe it will work wonders. So, anyway, my hairs really curly naturally and I blow it out and flat iron to get it to look like this. Um, I don’t wash my hair every day, I wash my hair about every 3 days. I shampoo it and I condition it but I leave the conditioner on for about 5 to 10 minutes. I’m not somebody who can skip or skimp on conditioner. I know I’ve seen a lot of like hair care videos recently where people are saying that they like condition the top layer like they only condition the bottom layer. I can’t do that my hair will look like straw. I will look like the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz, it’ll be bad. So I have to, have to, have to condition. I have to leave it on for longer then the average person to kind of add that moisture because I put so much heat on it. So, I do have a lot of split ends, I do have to trim it every 4 to 6 weeks to kind of keep them at bay and keep everything looking healthy. So that’s my hair.
OK, so now, this product says that it is made with nourishing wheat complex, which sounds very nature like and healthy and new. It’s got like the wheat on the bottle and everything like that. it says helps repair everyday damage to normal hair. OK, so on the back it talks about the protection it provides for your hair. It says that it strengthens, softens and shines. When you use both, and I’m using the nourish and revitalize system. So, I used this, for about a month, a little bit more. I can’t say that it really did anything for me. I can’t say that’s it’s worked better then anything else I’ve used. My hair felt soft, like when I came out of the shower. When I shampoo my hair, and rinse the shampoo out. My hair just kinds feels really really dry, like I just stripped it of so many natural oils that I needed. Once I put the conditioner in and rinsed that out, my hair feels a lot smoother, a lot softer. My hair felt really soft, which it says it softens. hen it was dry, it felt soft. however it didn’t look shiny, and it wasn’t strengthened at all. I would run my fingers through my hair, I would be typing on my laptop and would be like playing with my hair as I did it. I would look down at my keyboard, and I would have broken hair on my keyboard. It’s a terrifying thing, like oh my god I’m balding or something. it didn’t strengthen my hair, at all, and it didn’t add any shine to it. my hair actually looked really dry and brittle, which is funny because it’s supposed to nourish and add moisture back to your hair and it didn’t. It looked like it sucked it out of me. So, you know that was kind of a problem.
It didn’t really you know protect against split ends. I was looking and it looked like I had more split ends then ever. It didn’t look healthy, it didn’t look any healthier and it says you know, made with natural things, so you hair would be healthy. It didn’t really work for me, it didn’t do it. but what I will say about this product is in it’s defense it smells really good. The shampoo lathers really nicely. The conditioner is a nice consistency. I won’t knock that. it smells really good. it does smell really delicious. I wish it worked better for me but it didn’t. but once again, that’s on my hair type and might work completely different on you. it might be a complete success story for you. You can’t really knock it until you try it. i tried it so I can knock it. but you should try it before you knock it. if you’re thinking about it and you have really different hair then me, go for it. Try it out. See how it works. I mean it’s not really expensive. You can buy it at CVS drugstore for probably $5 a bottle. So give it a try. but anyways, that is my review on the Aveeno naturalize shampoo and conditioner. If you’ve actually tried this and you can attest to how it worked for you, post a comment with your hair type and how it worked for you.
